Kennedy's First Shower...We love RPE!

These are all of my wonderful coworkers! My kinder friends put on a very special shower for me over the summer. Stacy decorated in a rubber ducky theme. We got so many wonderful gifts and it felt amazing to be surrounded with so much love and support! I am so fortunate to work with such great women who are so giving, caring and kind! Thanks again to all of you for taking the time to celebrate this special time with us!

6 Months!

On Wednesday we had our 6 month checkup! Everything looks great and we are right on track! Kennedy's heart beat was between 140 and 150 which is normal. I have gained 12 pounds, which is right where I should be...I was a little surprised it isn't more with all of those sweet cravings! We will go back in two weeks for the diabetes test and then we will visit the Dr. every two weeks. I can't believe that I only have two more weeks left and then I will be in the third trimester...the home stretch! The pregnancy has gone so quickly and I truly have enjoyed every minute of it, especially the growing belling and little kicks! We just finished registering and are super excited to get Kennedy's room together! Her closet it already half full and she has 10 pair of shoes already! I think this little girl might be just a bit spoiled. I'm proud to say that it's not just mommy and daddy spoiling her, but our families and friends too! We'll send you another update in a few weeks!

I'm amazed at how fast you can grow in just a few short weeks! Lacie, the big sister, looks so small compared to my belly!

5 1/2 months!

Kennedy and I danced all night long! I thought that would wear her out...but it didn't! The next day she kicked all day long!

5 Months!

At 5 months we knew that our little sweet pea was a girl! This was the shirt that I wore to work to make the big announcement!

My girlfriends are the best! We celebrated 5 months and the big news of a "girl" on the way at Vito's! They surprised me with flowers, a balloon and an ice cream cake in honor of little Kennedy. I feel truly blessed to share this special time with such supportive friends!

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!

Today was such an amazing day! It still hasn't sunk in that I'm going to be a mommy and Jason is going to be a daddy to precious little GIRL!!!! We were taken by surprise since we were certain that it was boy due to the few symptoms that I was having. The heartbeat was at 138 during out last visit which also predicted a boy! We were able to see her arms and hands, her legs and feet, her cute little profile, and even a little girl part. The doctor said that she is 90% sure that she is right! They are never 100% sure with a girl since the signs aren't as visible. I still can't stop smiling and tears still fill my eyes at just the simple thought of our wonderful future. Thanks to everyone for showing you support and sharing in the exciting time with us. Kennedy Lynn Smith will arrive in mid January with many many people waiting to meet her and love her!
Oh...I can feel her moving in my tummy now! It's such a wonderful thing to feel and I can't wait for Jason to be able to feel her first little kick!!!!

She is currently 10 oz and and 6 inches long! She's about the size of a mango! Many more updates to come!!!!

4 Months!

Today Baby Smith is 4 months and growing! My belly is definitely starting to stick out much more! I'm finally starting to feel pregnant and not just fat! Our little sweet pea is now the size of an avocado and is about 4-5 inches long. He/she weighs only 3 ounces! In the next few weeks he/she will double in weight, start stretching out his/her body, and grow tiny little toenails! It's still amazing to us how quickly our little one is growing and changing. I'm getting really excited to feel the baby move for the first time. I should be able to experience this sometime in the next 3-5 weeks. Only three more weeks until we find out if our little bundle of joy is a boy or a girl! We are so excited! 168 days to go and little Smith will finally be here...not that anyone is counting right?!

3 Months!

Today we went to the Dr. for our 13 week appointment! We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat again! This was the first time that they were able to catch the heartbeat over my belly. The baby's heart rate is 152 and is continuing to beat strong. Due to spotting early in the pregnancy, we had another ultrasound. Jason and I were both amazing at how much our little sweet pea had grown! He/she is already 7 cm long and about the size of peach! We were able to see the head, belly, spine, and a hand and foot. He/she even did a little jump on the screen as we watched. We will visit the Dr. again in 4 weeks for our regular checkup and then two weeks later we will get find out the sex of our sweet pea! I think I'm leaning towards a boy, but I'm sure why! Most people seem to be guessing that it's a girl. The suspense is killing us, but it will be well worth the wait!

Father's Day!

The daddy-to-be and baby-to-be got matching shoes as a special gift! They are so cute! They are the same brand and everything! I'm anxious to see our little one look like daddy!

12 Weeks!!!

Today we have finally hit the three month milestone! Our little one is now the size of the lime and a little over 2 inches long! He/she would be able to fit in the palm of your hand. I have been very lucky and still feel great! I'm finally starting to get my energy back! Our next appointment in next Monday and we will get the heartbeat again! Only 7 more weeks until we can find out if it's a boy or a girl!

Our Second Visit to the Doctor: 8 weeks

Today we went for our 8 week check up at the doctor. We got a lot of information today and were able to have all of our questions answered. Jason and I were very excited to have the opportunity to see our little one again! He/she is now 2.3 cm big! The heart rate increased from 107 to 168, which is great! The doctor likes for it to be between 120 and 180. We were both amazed to look at the new pictures and see how much the baby has grown in just two short weeks. I think that if you look hard enough you can see some of the little body parts, but Jason just thinks it's my imagination. The little heart was going wild on the screen and put on a good show for mommy and daddy! The doctor gave both the baby and I a very good report! We will be finding out the sex of the baby in late August or early September! What's your guess...a boy or a girl?

Here is a side view of the little one! I swear that you can a see the little head, tummy, nose and a tiny little arm! I may be crazy, but to me it's there! The baby's arms, legs, facial features, heart and many other organs are already formed. He/she is growing quickly each and every day!

Two Months and Growing!

8 weeks! I feel like I already have a little belly, but it could just my imagination! I'm sure there's much more belly to come:)

Baby's Smith's First Gifts!

Daddy's first gift! He bought this in Chicago at the Cub's game right after we found out we were expecting. He thought it would be a good keepsake for our baby to cherish!

I had to buy this one because our wishes are coming true! I wore this on my belly on my way into school and classroom to announce the big news! Maybe our little sweet pea will have to wear this home!

Our First Visit to the Doctor: May 25th

Baby's First Photo!

Today we had our visit with the doctor. Baby Smith is doing great so far and we are 6 weeks along...a long way to go:) It was amazing to be able to hear his/her heartbeat even though he/she is only 3mm big! The heart rate was 107 which was a bit low, since we were able to hear it so early. This long awaited day left us with more excitement! Now...we have to wait and see if this little one is a boy or a girl. Daddy is hoping for a little boy, but I'm fine with either one...as long as I eventually get one of each! I told Jason that he is going to get stuck with twin girls (but there's only one heartbeat thank goodness!!!) Our next appointment will be on Tuesday June 8th! The official due date is January 18th! I have been feeling great, with no morning sickness!!! My mom said that she wasn't sick with my brother or I, so hopefully she passed that along to me. However, I'm always tired and hungry! Jason is doing a good job with keeping me active! I'm hoping that only my belly grows, not my lower half! I can't wait to update you soon on the progress of our growing addition!

A Mother's Day Surprise!

What an amazing surprise! On Mother's Day, 2010, we took a home pregnancy test. We were both thinking that there wasn't a chance, but it would be really neat to find out on such a special day. To our amazement, that little pink line appeared! So many emotions were running through our heads! It happened! We realized that we were having a baby, and even more of our dreams were going to be coming true! And now....the adventure begins! "Little Sweet Pea" we can't wait to meet you in 9 short months!
